An Siziliens Westküste entsteht ein wahres Kletter-Paradies: San Vito Lo Capo. Nur wenige Schritte vom Strand entfernt und ganz in der Nähe des Naturreservats 'Lo Zingaro' liegt ein für Kletterer traumhafter Felsriegel. Aus ganz Europe kommen mittlerweile die Besucher hierher, und jedes Jahr werden es mehr, die an diesem herrlichen, rötlichen Kalkfels ihr Vergnügen finden. Hunderte von kurzen Baseclimbs und Mehrseillängenrouten wurden mittlerweile hier eingebohrt und ein Ende der Erschließung ist noch nicht absehbar. Meer, Wind und Gischt haben hier im Laufe der Jahrtausende eine Vielzahl von interessanten Felsstrukturen geschaffen.
Diese aktuelle Landkarte zeigt alle Sektoren, auf der Rückseite werden Routen und Zustiege beschrieben. Ebenso wie der umfassende Kletterführer "Klettern auf Sizilien" stammt die Karte aus der Feder von Massimo Cappuccio und Giuseppe Gallo, den beiden renommierten sizilianischen Kletterern und Erschließern.

A climbers' heaven is flourishing along Sicily coast: San Vito Lo Capo. Next to Zingaro Reserve, a few minutes walk from a beach stretching for almost one kilometre, a sea of rock is waiting to be explored. This red limestone treasure is becoming, year after year, more and more popular amongst climbers from all Europe. Hundreds of routes and multipitches have been equipped along these ramparts dotted with stalactites, hollow sections and sculptures embroidered over the years by the sea, the wind and the salty air. A rich network of paths connects all the prominent sections of this area, reaching the Zingaro Reserve and the surrounding places, between the hills and the city, the seaside and the natural reserve.
