Sie ist sehr leicht mit nur 21 g/m und ultrastatisch. Der Mantel ist griffig für besseres Handling und Kontrolle. Da die BACK UP LINE aus Aramid-Fasern besteht und absichtlich ultra-statisch ist, absorbiert sie keine Energie. Deshalb darf die BACK UP LINE nicht zum Einbinden, zur Fortbewegung, oder andere Zwecke verwendet werden, bei denen dynamische Belastungen auftreten können (z.B. Klettern).
