Die ersten vier Größen der Tricams sind mit Dyneema-Schlingen erhältlich, der Tricam ist eloxiert nach der Farbe des Bandes und identisch mit den Bändern der normalen Tricam-Serie!

Das Tricam-Set in den meist benutzten Größen (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0), wird hier mit Dyneema®-Band ausgeliefert und ist somit bei einer aktiven Platzierung widerstandsfester. Bei starker Feuchtigkeit ist Dyneema® hochwertiger als Nylon: Es behält im nassen Zustand eine höhere Bruchlast und verhindert dank seiner wasserabstoßenden Eigenschaften, dass das Band Wasser aufsaugt und gefriert.

Halb Cam, halb Keil: Der Tricam von Camp bietet einzigartige Eigenschaften und kann als vielseitigste Sicherung der Welt angesehen werden. Er ist geeignet für jede Art von Fels, für Parallelrisse, Horizontal- und weit auseinandergehende Risse. Die Dreifuß-Form gewährleistet eine bemerkenswerte Widerstandsfähigkeit und Stabilität. Das intelligente Design der Tricams ermöglicht sowohl eine aktive als auch passive Sicherung, selbst Löcher stellen kein Problem dar.

Die Entwickler von Camp haben nach sorgfältiger Planung und zahlreichen Versuchen das Tricam-Band auf natürliche Weise versteift, um die Positionierung der Tricams (vor allem mit nur einer Hand) zu erleichtern, ohne die Funktion beim aktiven Schutz zu beeinträchtigen. Wie? Ganz einfach indem die dreifache Bandschicht etwas verlängert wurde und diese durch ein neues Nahtbild näher am Tricam-Kopf angenäht wurde. Auf diese Weise ist das Band in Kopfnähe nicht nur steifer, sondern auch resistenter gegen scharfe Kanten.

By popular demand, the most popular Tricam sizes are also available with Dyneema® slings. These are slightly stronger in camming mode without any additional weight and realize the unique benefits of Dyneema®. Compared to nylon, Dyneema® maintains a higher breaking strength when wet and its natural hydrophobic properties prevent the slings from soaking up water and icing over. Sizes: 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0.

Look on the rack of most experienced trad climbers and you are almost certain to see an assortment of Tricams. Most climbers agree that visiting the Gunks without multiples of pink through purple is a serious mistake. These wondrous pieces of pro can be used either as cams or nuts and often work where nothing else fits. Tricams are ideal in horizontal cracks, pockets, and shallow vertical cracks. The larger sizes are an affordable way to augment a rack of cams and are ideal for belay anchors due to their high strength and light weight. Tricams can also be placed in icy cracks where regular cams do not work.

Our engineers recently spent some time working on one of the ageold questions with the Tricam… how to stiffen the sling without impeding its ability to engage the camming action. After much experimenting, we rested on the simple solution of carrying the inner band of webbing further towards the head and using a new stitch pattern. The result is a naturally stiffer sling that makes one-handed placements easier, but still engages the cam in active mode and will even increase durability over sharp edges with the additional layer of material.
